Kael Opie
LEED AP, Associate
An Associate at KPMB, Kael brings expertise in advanced building technologies and an understanding of the integration of energy efficiency and cutting-edge sustainable goals with building design. He was the project architect for two LEED Platinum certified projects including the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario and Manitoba Hydro Place in Winnipeg, a 695,000 SF office tower that consistently achieves 70%+/- energy reduction. Currently he is the associate-in-charge of the Destination Project at the University of Lethbridge, which is the product of an integrated sustainable design strategy to outperform baseline typologies, including an unprecedented 59% reduction for the laboratory and research spaces.
